Sodium Ion (Na-Ion) Prismatic cell
Sodium and Lithium belong to the same group in the periodic table and Sodium ion cells have similar properties to Lithium ion cells except sodium replaces lithium as the charge carrying and intercalating ion. The product uses a sodium transition metal oxide cathode material and exhibits excellent safety, high and low temperature resistance, good high rate performance and resistance to over discharge
Benefits of using Sodium Ion include:
- Abundance and ease of access to the raw materials
- Cheaper to produce (Approx 30% in future)
- Can be discharged to 0 volts with no adverse effect on service life
- Excellent low temperature performance and can support -30°C discharge and -20°C slow charging.
- Wide operating temperature range (-30°C to +70°C current dependant - please consult us)
- Excellent cycle life - up to 4000 cycles @ 25°C to 95% DoD
- Ease of adaptation to existing Lithium Ion based applications
- Safe - less flammable than Lithium ion cells
Multiple Applications such as:
- Off Grid Systems
- Wind Power Storage
- Home Solar Storage ESS
- EV's and Electric bikes
- Portable power applications
- Telemetry
- Communications
