Important Information:
MG battery system can be connected by CAN-bus to communicate with chargers, inverters and
power management systems. The system integrate seamlessly with Victron Energy equipment. Integration with other equipment is also possible, for example with SMA.
This MG Energy 50.4V LiIon Battery can be connected unlimited in Parallel configurations.
Product supplied with RJ45 or M12 CANBus comms connection.
*See Product Manual or Datasheet for more information and full specifications.
Flexibility and scalability:
System flexibility is one of the key features of MG E-Rack. The
combination of the modular rack and the HE batteries creates a powerful
system for a wide range of applications with system voltages of 25.2V up
to 465V and capacities of 7.5kWh up to several MWh
Redundancy:
Reliability of energy storage becomes more important as it is used in
off-grid and backup power systems. E-racks can be set up to provide
redundancy. In that case each E-Rack contains a master battery
management system which is digitally combined to control chargers and
inverters. Should one E-Rack fail, it goes to fail-safe and the system
will keep operating with the other E-Racks.
Safety:
Each battery module comes with an integrated battery management
system (BMS). This is an intelligent electronic module (slave BMS), that
measures all cell voltages and temperatures to control balancing on
both battery cell and module level. The battery modules communicate by a
galvanic isolated CAN-Bus with the MG Master LV or HV (master BMS),
which collects and monitors the status of all battery modules. If the
measured values from a battery module exceed the limit, the MG Master
will automatically take action to protect the connected battery modules.
Battery management controllers:
Protecting, monitoring and controlling a battery system is very
important to create a safe, reliable and easy-to-use system. The MG
Master LV or HV is the safety and control unit of the battery system. It
protects the connected battery modules against over-charging,
over-discharging, over-temperature, under-temperature and controls the
balancing of the battery cells. Besides a safety funtion, the MG Master
LV or HV monitors and tracks other important parameters to give insight
in the battery status and energy consumption. MG's battery system
CAN-bus protocol can be used to communicate with other equipment and
multi functional display's (MFD's) by NMEA2000 and web interface. The MG
Master LV and HV ensure an easy and proper installation. Thanks to the
built-in safety components a reliable installation is guaranteed.
Remote and local monitoring:
The MG Energy monitor can optionally be added to the rack. This
enables local and remote monitoring of the battery system. The
integrated WiFi in the MG Energy monitor connects to the MG Energy
Portal to view the status of the system and give insight in the energy
flows.
